What’s swimming in our local waters? Come to the July 19th meeting of Alpine Anglers to find out. District Wildlife Manager Rick Spowart of the Colorado Division of Wildlife will talk about the health of the Big Thompson River and Lake Estes, and he will report the results of electro-fishing surveys in the Big Thompson. Most of us who fish the Big T think the resident rainbows and browns have gotten bigger in the past few years. Let’s see if Rick agrees. Rick has years experience as a wildlife officer in our area. His duties range from catching poachers to removing bicycles from elk antlers. Rick was recently awarded a Law Enforcement Award by the Colorado Wildlife Commission for his outstanding efforts in convicting out-of-state poachers who shot a bull elk in the Estes Park area. Come meet Rick and tap into his wealth of knowledge on the fish and wildlife of our area. |
