Rick Takahashi

Wednesday, June 16 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Mary's Lake Lodge, Grand Room

Meet Rick Takahashi!

If you want to break the code on that early-season midge hatch on the Big Thompson, come hear Rick Takahashi talk about midges and midge fishing.

Rick is well-known throughout the region as an innovative fly tier, fisherman and fly fishing writer. His recent book Modern Midges, Fishing and Tying the World's Most Productive Patterns was released last year and is already in its third printing. (Check it out on Amazon.) Rick is an illustrator and writer for Fly Fisherman magazine, a fly designer for Umpqua Feather Merchants and a demonstration tier at fly fishing shows across the region. According to testimony, he's also a heck-of-a nice guy.

Rick will talk about the life cycle of midges and their importance in the diet of trout in our local streams. He'll present the fly patterns he has found to be effective imitating midges at each stage of their life cycle. And he'll disclose the techniques he uses to deliver the fly on target and get the strike.

Refreshments will be served, and you might pick up a bargain at our annual auction. Don't miss it!
